Cataract surgery is one of the safest and most effective procedures for restoring vision. Cataracts are an age-related clouding of the eye’s natural lens, leading to blurred vision, sensitivity to glare, and color distortion. Without treatment, cataracts can significantly impair vision and reduce quality of life.
Diagnosis and advice
During a detailed examination, we assess the condition of your lens and discuss your individual needs as well as possible lens options.
Surgery
The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. The clouded lens is removed and replaced with a clear, artificial intraocular lens (IOL). This process usually takes less than 30 minutes.
Aftercare
Regular check-up appointments ensure that your healing process is optimal. In most cases, you can resume everyday activities within a few days.
Intraocular Lenses (IOLs)
OptionsWe offer a variety of premium lenses to suit your individual needs:
Monofocal lenses with extended depth of field
These lenses optimize vision at a distance while allowing for some near vision.
Toric lenses
Ideal for patients with astigmatism, as they correct these visual defects at the same time as cataract treatment.
Multifocal lenses
For patients who want to do without glasses both near and far. These lenses allow for clear vision for everyday activities such as reading, working or driving.
Is cataract surgery painful?
No, the surgery is performed under local anesthesia, and most patients do not feel any pain.
How long does it take to heal?
Most patients can see again within a few days. Complete healing takes about 4-6 weeks.
Can I leave out glasses after surgery?
Depending on the lens you choose, you may be able to do without glasses, especially with multifocal or toric lenses.
Are there any risks?
As with any surgery, there are low risks, such as infections or cataracts. However, these can be minimized by regular aftercare and modern technology.
