We now offer state-of-the-art YAG and SLT laser treatments for the treatment of posterior capsule opacification, glaucoma, angle-closure glaucoma, and vitreous opacities. Many services are covered by basic insurance.
In our ophthalmology practice, we rely on innovative technologies to provide you with gentle and effective treatment right on site – completely without surgical intervention. Our new YAG and SLT laser devices open up the latest possibilities in ophthalmology.
After cataract surgery, there may be clouding of the posterior lens capsule – known as posterior capsule opacification. The YAG laser capsulotomy is a quick, painless procedure in which the cloudy capsule is opened with a laser. Vision usually improves immediately.
Cost coverage: This treatment is covered by basic insurance.
The SLT laser lowers intraocular pressure in open-angle glaucomas. By targeted impulses, the natural drainage system of the aqueous humor is activated – an effective, low-side-effect, and repeatable method that can complement or replace medications.
Cost coverage: This treatment is fully covered by basic insurance.
To prevent or treat angle-closure glaucoma, an iridotomy may be necessary. A tiny opening is made in the iris with the YAG laser to improve aqueous humor drainage and prevent pressure spikes.
Cost coverage: This treatment is fully covered by basic insurance.
Many people suffer from bothersome vitreous opacities that impair vision. Vitreolysis with the YAG laser specifically treats these opacities – without surgery. The number of necessary sessions depends on the type and location of the opacities.
Cost coverage: This treatment is not covered by basic insurance. Private cost coverage is required.
We are happy to advise you personally whether one of these laser treatments is suitable for you. Schedule an appointment today – we look forward to helping you see better with the latest technology.
